Two Arrested in Deadly Uptown Charlotte Stabbing, Police Say It Was Not Random

Charlotte, N.C. – Two people have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of 21-year-old Leashan McBeath in Uptown Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On Monday, February 24, authorities arrested 20-year-old Sierra Guzman, identifying her as a key suspect in the case. Later the same day, police also arrested 19-year-old Ricky Miller, who had been named a person of interest.

Both Guzman and Miller are facing first-degree murder, armed robbery, and conspiracy charges. Guzman has since been transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, while Miller remains in custody in Union County on unrelated charges. Officials say Miller will be extradited back to Mecklenburg County soon.

Investigators have stated they do not believe this was a random act of violence, though details on the motive remain unclear.
