Donald Trump has taken to Truth Social to demand the resignation of California Governor Gavin Newsom, accusing him of incompetence in handling the deadly wildfire sweeping through Los Angeles. The fire, driven by dry conditions and powerful winds, has already claimed five lives and forced over 100,000 people to evacuate. Reports indicate multiple blazes are burning across the region, with fears of even greater devastation.
Trump wrote, “One of the best and most beautiful parts of the United States of America is burning down to the ground. It’s ashes, and Gavin Newscum should resign. This is all his fault!!!” This isn’t the first time Trump has lashed out at Newsom and President Joe Biden, blaming them for what he describes as “gross incompetence” in managing the crisis.
In response, Newsom has claimed that over 7,500 firefighting personnel are actively working alongside local and federal agencies to control the blaze. “Southern California residents — please remain vigilant tonight. Listen to local officials and be ready to evacuate if you’re near impacted areas,” Newsom urged in an X post.
