In a heartbreaking development, 30-year-old Filipe Montoya has been arrested on charges of open murder after a woman’s body was discovered at a residence in Reno, Nevada. On February 16, at approximately 11 a.m., Reno Police responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at a home located on the 1000 block of Harvard Way.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers met Montoya and later found the deceased woman. The Robbery/Homicide Unit of the Reno Police Department took over the investigation. The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the victim, as they await notification from her next of kin.
Reno Police have confirmed that there are no additional suspects, and they believe there is no ongoing threat to the public.
