In a heartbreaking incident, Rebecca Marodi, a respected California fire captain, was brutally stabbed to death in her own home in what authorities suspect may have been a domestic violence attack. The shocking crime unfolded on the evening of February 17 in Ramona, California, approximately 40 miles northeast of San Diego.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a distress call regarding an assault with a deadly weapon at around 8:58 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Marodi suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite immediate efforts from both deputies and CAL FIRE paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are actively investigating the case and working to identify the suspect, whom they believe Marodi knew personally. While the motive remains unclear, detectives are gathering critical evidence to piece together the events that led to this tragedy.
