California Man Arrested After Allegedly Killing Pregnant Teen in Hit-and-Run Incident
A tragic incident in Riverside, California, has left a community in mourning after a 16-year-old pregnant girl was struck and killed by a vehicle allegedly driven by Isaac Blackhorse Garcia, a man accused of having a sexual relationship with her underage sister. The incident occurred on the evening of February 2, according to the Riverside Police Department.
Authorities reported that Garcia was dropping off the victim’s teenage sister at their home when the victim and her family confronted him about his relationship with the younger sister. As the family approached Garcia’s car, he allegedly sped away, striking the 16-year-old with his vehicle. The victim, whose identity has not been officially released, sustained grave injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where she later died. Medical personnel were able to deliver her baby, but the newborn remains in critical condition.
Disturbing video footage from a neighbor’s security camera, obtained by ABC 7, captured the chaotic scene. Family members can be heard screaming as they rushed toward the victim, while another clip shows Garcia’s car screeching away from the neighborhood.
The victim’s family has since set up a GoFundMe page to honor her memory, describing her as “a radiant light in our lives.” The fundraiser highlighted her excitement about becoming a mother and the dreams she had for the future, all tragically cut short. “In the blink of an eye, all of that was stolen,” the page reads.
Garcia, who was arrested shortly after the incident, faces multiple charges, including murder, hit-and-run resulting in death, and unlawful sex with a minor. He is currently being held without bail. Plea and attorney information for Garcia were not immediately available.
The case has shocked the community and raised questions about the circumstances leading to the confrontation. Authorities continue to investigate the incident as the victim’s family grieves the loss of a young life full of promise.
