Tompkinsville Man Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A routine traffic stop in Monroe County led to the arrest of 20-year-old Ta’quan E. Howard on multiple drug charges.

On January 23, officers with the Tompkinsville Police Department pulled over Howard’s vehicle for a minor traffic violation. During the stop, officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, prompting a search.

The search resulted in the discovery of 2.1 grams of suspected marijuana, 6.2 grams of suspected cocaine, 996 M30 fentanyl pills, and $732 in cash. As a result, Howard was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, first-degree possession, and other drug-related offenses.

Howard was taken to the Barren County Detention Center, where he remains in custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 28 to face the charges.
