A 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were inside a home when someone outside opened fire, police said. Both adults were struck by bullets. The man was shot in his right side and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition.
The woman sustained a gunshot wound to her right shoulder. She was also taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center but is reported to be in good condition.
Tragically, a 4-year-old girl was also injured in the shooting. She was hit in her right leg and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital. Fortunately, the child is reported to be in good condition, according to authorities.
