Minneapolis, MN – In a shocking turn of events, a 42-year-old man has been charged with murder following a brutal assault that left one man dead and another injured. The suspect, Coby Levan Richardson, now faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, threats of violence, and fifth-degree assault, according to court records.
The incident occurred on February 15, when Minneapolis police responded to an assault report at a business on the 2500 block of Lyndale Avenue South. Upon arrival, officers found a man lying unconscious in a parking lot. He was rushed to the hospital with a skull fracture, brain bleeding, and facial injuries but tragically succumbed to his wounds three days later. An autopsy is pending.
A second victim at the scene reported that Richardson had also struck him in the face. The man, who was a friend of the deceased, claimed they had previously encountered Richardson during a conflict weeks earlier.
