LAS VEGAS, Nev. – A 24-year-old woman has been charged with murder after allegedly running over a pedestrian in what police describe as an intentional act early Thursday morning.
The deadly incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Valley View Boulevard. Surveillance footage captured the chilling moment when the suspect, identified as Mariana Armenta-Jauriqui, struck and killed the victim after an interaction at a nearby gas station.
Authorities say Armenta-Jauriqui was seen at a 7-Eleven gas pump moments before the incident. Shortly after, she allegedly drove out of the parking lot and deliberately hit the man as he crossed the street.
Daniel Gonzalez, a local business owner, reviewed his shop’s security footage and was stunned by what he saw.
“It shocked me,” Gonzalez said. “People act on impulse without thinking about the consequences. Now, one person is gone, and the other will spend a long time in jail.”
Police tracked Armenta-Jauriqui down just miles from the crime scene and took her into custody. She has been charged with open murder with a deadly weapon.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released, and authorities have not confirmed whether he and Armenta-Jauriqui knew each other before the incident.
This tragic case serves as a grim reminder of how quickly a moment of rage can turn deadly, leaving lasting consequences for all involved.
