KNOX, Ind. – In a shocking turn of events, a 43-year-old Knox man was arrested after authorities discovered suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and a firearm inside his residence during a search warrant execution.
The Starke County Sheriff’s Office reported that on February 21, deputies carried out a search at a home located in the 2600-east block of 150 South in Knox. The search was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected narcotics activity.
According to officials, investigators uncovered a stash of illegal substances, including what is believed to be fentanyl and methamphetamine. Additionally, a firearm was recovered from the scene.
During the operation, authorities found 43-year-old Kyle Sanders inside the home, along with a juvenile. Due to the presence of the minor in the same environment as dangerous narcotics, the Indiana Department of Child Services was immediately notified and called to the scene.
Following the discovery, Sanders was taken into custody and is currently facing preliminary charges for narcotics possession and neglect of a dependent. Authorities confirmed that additional formal charges are pending as the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office reviews the case.
