A flight crew traveling to Florida recently spotted strange glowing orbs in the night sky while flying over the Bahamas. The incident happened on December 23 during a high-altitude flight. According to flight attendant Cassandra Martin, she and two pilots saw the mysterious objects, which left them stunned and looking for answers as they flew back to Fort Lauderdale.
Martin described the objects as initially white before changing to a green color with an electric-like glow. “It was almost like some type of energy around it,” she told NBC Miami. At one point, she heard air traffic control mention a “foreign object” and ask if the crew could identify it. Martin looked out the window to the left and saw three objects, while the pilot noticed one. Martin quickly grabbed her phone and pressed it to the window, trying to get a video of the object.
Although Martin couldn’t explain exactly what the objects were, she managed to capture photos and a video of one of the glowing orbs. She described the orbs as changing colors and moving in strange ways, with “daunting” flight capabilities. The objects followed the plane for about 45 minutes, flying far above the plane, which was cruising at an altitude of around 44,000 feet.
Martin pointed out that the object’s unpredictable movements, described as “zig-zags,” and its high altitude ruled out the possibility of it being a drone or a weather balloon. “It was something you really can’t explain,” she said, admitting she didn’t have the expertise to identify it.
The story of the mysterious orbs reminded people of a similar incident reported by Dr. Leroy Chiao, a former NASA commander. Chiao had a near-miss with two metallic orbs while flying at 9,000 feet in a personal plane over the Texas panhandle. He described the orbs as silent, fast-moving, and lacking any visible means of propulsion.
The incident also brings to mind a 2023 Pentagon report that mentioned a spherical craft flying through controlled airspace in Iraq. The object in that case, like the orbs seen by the flight crew, remains unidentified by government agencies. Similar sightings have been reported in other parts of the U.S., adding to the mystery of these unexplained objects.
