Athens, Georgia – A 62-year-old woman is living in fear after a disturbing encounter with a stranger who forcibly hugged and kissed her outside her home. The incident, which occurred in late December 2024, was reported to Athens-Clarke police on January 22nd.
The woman, still shaken by the ordeal, described the moment as horrifying. “I’m terrified,” she admitted. “I don’t go outside except to the mailbox or grocery store.”
According to her account, the suspect—a man working in a construction-related business—was in the neighborhood distributing business cards. When she kindly offered him water, she never expected what would happen next.
“He suddenly grabbed me, held me in a vice grip, and said, ‘I’ve been watching you for months. You’re so sexy,’” she recalled. Shocked and struggling to break free, she fought against his grasp. “He shoved his tongue in my mouth while holding my face. I just wanted to get upstairs and grab my gun because he was going to get shot.”
The man then insisted on taking her to lunch. In a desperate attempt to end the assault, she agreed. “Finally, I said, ‘I’ll go out to lunch with you,’ just to make him stop, and he finally let go,” she said.
Two days later, she received an unsettling text from the man: “I love the smell of your perfume.” She ignored it but was horrified when he later returned to her home. This time, she did not answer the door.
Fearing for her safety, she reported the incident to the police. Authorities collected the suspect’s business card and reviewed doorbell camera footage from a neighbor, which confirmed his presence.
The man, described as a bald, white male, about 6’3” and 270 pounds, is believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s.
The case remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the next steps.
