A tragic shooting in the Pullman neighborhood of Chicago on Sunday afternoon left one teenager dead and two others hospitalized, according to police.
The incident happened inside a home in the 13100 block of South Corliss Avenue around 12:10 p.m. The victims included three teenagers—aged 18, 17, and 16—who were all shot during the attack.
Makai Rodriguez, a 16-year-old boy, was struck by gunfire nine times. He was rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he sadly passed away.
The 17-year-old victim suffered eight gunshot wounds and remains in critical condition. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment. The third victim, an 18-year-old, was shot once in the right arm. He is currently in good condition and also receiving care at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Police have identified a person of interest and are conducting an interview as part of the ongoing investigation.
