A pedestrian struck near the northbound onramp to Interstate 11 at Galleria Drive in Henderson has succumbed to injuries, according to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol. The incident occurred on the evening of Jan. 7, with the pedestrian passing away in the hospital the following day.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the pedestrian was outside a marked crosswalk when entering the roadway. The driver, operating a white 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe, was traveling westbound on Galleria Drive at the time of the collision. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
The Clark County coroner’s office is responsible for releasing the pedestrian’s identity after notifying next of kin. Meanwhile, Galleria Drive was temporarily closed while traffic homicide investigators examined the crash site.
This incident marks the fourth fatal crash investigated by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol’s Southern Command Traffic Homicide Unit in 2025. Officials urge pedestrians and drivers alike to exercise caution, particularly in areas with heavy traffic and limited visibility.
