Mysterious ‘HELP’ Signs on Google Maps in LA: What’s Really Happening?

People in Los Angeles have been talking about strange messages found on the ground that have caused many to jump to conclusions. The messages, which spell out the word “HELP,” were first noticed by Google Earth users. They were found in a storage or waste facility area in Los Angeles, near a shipping yard and the Union Pacific Railroad, about a mile east of the Los Angeles City Hall. The location is between the Los Angeles River, North Mission Road, and E Cesar E Chavez Avenue.

Along with the word “HELP,” other messages like “TRAFFICO” (traffic), “TERRORISMO” (terrorism), and words like “LAPD,” “FEDERAL,” and “FBI” were also spotted. This led some people on the internet to believe the messages were connected to human trafficking, possibly trying to alert the public or the police about something happening in the area. Some people even claimed to have seen holes or tunnel-like entrances near the site, suggesting they could be linked to criminal activity.

However, after more investigation, the situation seems to be less serious than what many people feared. A local man, known as “LAguy,” spoke to a homeless woman near the site who explained the situation. She said that a man named José had been writing these messages for years. According to her, José uses different materials, like rocks and other items, to spell out the word “HELP” on roads, sidewalks, and even next to freeways. She didn’t know why he was doing this, but it had been happening for a long time.

Other residents also confirmed that José, a homeless person, had been putting these messages around the area for years. Some even said that José was not mentally well. Despite the concerns raised by some online users, there is no evidence to suggest that these messages are related to human trafficking or any criminal activity.

Though there is no clear explanation from the police or officials, many people are still worried. Some are asking for further investigation, hoping for clarity about what’s going on in the area. But for now, it seems that the “HELP” messages are not as dangerous as they first appeared.
