Metro police in Las Vegas have made an arrest in connection to a body found in North Las Vegas earlier this month. Officers discovered the body on the afternoon of Jan. 2, 2025, near West Owens Avenue and Stocker Street, between a building and railroad tracks. Medical personnel confirmed that the person died at the scene, and the Clark County Coroner later ruled the cause of death as a gunshot wound, determining it a homicide.
On Tuesday, police arrested 30-year-old Connor Demots, charging him with open murder. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, and authorities believe he is responsible for the fatal shooting.
