Man Found Guilty of Ramming Car with Children Inside During Road Rage Incident

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – A jury took less than an hour to convict Deshawn Moore of criminal recklessness and reckless driving after he intentionally rammed another vehicle with children inside during a road rage incident.

According to court records, the altercation began when the victim swerved to avoid a parked car and nearly collided with Moore’s vehicle. Enraged, Moore allegedly turned his car around, chased the victim, and deliberately rammed their vehicle.

  • Criminal recklessness (Level 6 felony)
  • Reckless driving (Class C misdemeanor)

A Level 6 felony in Indiana carries a potential prison sentence of up to two and a half years.

“This kind of dangerous and reckless behavior is exactly why our taxpayers built our jail—to protect our citizens from dangerous people who think it’s okay to bully their fellow citizens and endanger their lives on the streets,” said Hamner.

Moore is scheduled for sentencing on April 3, with prosecutors seeking a substantial jail sentence to serve as both punishment and deterrence.
