Man Charged with Murder Following Welfare Check in North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas police have charged 34-year-old Christopher Knowles with open murder after a welfare check led to the discovery of a deceased man. The incident occurred in the 1700 block of Ingraham Street near Lake Mead Boulevard and Pecos Road.
On Wednesday, July 31, at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check request at a residence on Ingraham Street. Upon arrival, they found a man in his early 50s who had sustained severe injuries. Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
During their investigation, detectives identified Christopher Knowles as a person of interest in the homicide. Further inquiries revealed that Knowles was already in custody at the Clark County Detention Center (CCDC) on unrelated charges. Detectives subsequently interviewed him at the detention center.
On January 17, following their investigation and the interview, authorities charged Knowles with multiple crimes. These charges include open murder with the use of a deadly weapon, burglary with the use of a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
This case is part of an ongoing investigation, and authorities have not yet disclosed additional details about the circumstances leading to the victim’s death. Knowles is being held in custody as the legal process continues.
