A man from Patchogue was arrested early Saturday morning for driving drunk with his 5-month-old son in the car, according to police. The incident happened in Melville on the Long Island Expressway around 2:15 a.m.
Authorities say Angel Abadcando was driving when he suddenly hit the brakes, causing another car to rear-end him. When officers arrived at the scene, they noticed he showed signs of being intoxicated. After a quick investigation, they took him into custody.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the accident, but Abadcando now faces serious charges. He is being accused of driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI for having a child under 15 in the car, and endangering the welfare of a child.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Sunday in Central Islip.
