Las Vegas Metro Police have arrested 29-year-old Denver Baoec-Asuncion in connection with two violent sexual assault cases and suspect he may be linked to additional incidents. Baoec-Asuncion faces charges including kidnapping and sexual assault following his arrest on January 11, 2025.
The first reported case occurred on December 20, 2024, when a woman reported to University Medical Center that she had been sexually assaulted by a stranger. She recounted that Baoec-Asuncion had offered her a ride near Las Vegas and Charleston boulevards. However, when a conversation about money and protection upset him, he reportedly drove her to his home, physically assaulted her, and forced her into non-consensual acts.
The second assault was reported on January 7, 2025. Another woman told police that Baoec-Asuncion offered her a ride, only to later batter and sexually assault her at his residence. Following the assault, he reportedly made a chilling comment, stating, “You’re the first of 2025.” Both victims also reported being threatened with a firearm during their ordeals.
The women provided critical descriptions of Baoec-Asuncion and his vehicle, which helped detectives locate his home. The car parked in front of the residence matched the victims’ descriptions.
Court records reveal a troubling history, as Baoec-Asuncion was previously arrested in 2020 for soliciting an undercover officer for sex. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bail, set by Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Amy Ferreria. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 27, 2025.
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department is urging any additional victims or anyone with relevant information to come forward. Tips can be directed to 702-828-3421 or submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or crimestoppersofnv.com.
Due to the ongoing investigation, police have released a photo of the suspect, which is typically withheld under a circuit court ruling. The authorities hope this step will encourage more victims or witnesses to provide crucial information, helping to ensure justice is served.
