An Illinois woman has been arrested in Western Kentucky after attempting to pass a forged prescription for controlled substances, including Oxycodone. Bonnie S. Jensen, 54, of Peoria, Illinois, was taken into custody on January 15, 2025, by the Paducah Police Department.
The incident began on December 31, 2024, when Paducah Police responded to a call from a local pharmacy about suspicious activity. Jensen, who had presented a prescription allegedly issued by a local doctor, was denied the medication when the pharmacy staff identified the prescription as fraudulent. Undeterred, Jensen attempted to fill the forged prescription at two other pharmacies in the area but was unsuccessful at both.
On January 15, Jensen returned to Paducah and attempted to pass yet another forged prescription at a different pharmacy. This time, the pharmacy staff immediately recognized the prescription as counterfeit and contacted the Paducah Police. Officers responded to the scene and arrested Jensen without incident.
Jensen is facing four charges of possession of a forged prescription. She was booked into the McCracken County Jail following her arrest. Police continue to investigate the case, as Jensen’s repeated attempts to obtain prescription medication through fraudulent means have raised concerns within the community.
The arrest highlights the ongoing issue of prescription drug fraud in the region, and authorities are reminding the public of the serious consequences for attempting to fraudulently obtain controlled substances. The case serves as a reminder for pharmacies and medical professionals to be vigilant in identifying counterfeit prescriptions and preventing such illegal activities.
