Hit-and-Run Drama: Man Hides in Storm Drain in Virginia

Virginia police are actively searching for a man who fled from the scene of a car accident and took refuge in a storm drain on Monday afternoon. The incident unfolded on I-495 in Fairfax following a series of vehicle crashes that disrupted traffic in the area.

At approximately 2:35 p.m., state troopers were dispatched to the scene of two separate crashes on the eastbound side of I-495. While officers were investigating these initial incidents, a third crash occurred in the same vicinity, further complicating the situation.

During the investigation of this third collision, one of the involved drivers attempted to evade authorities when troopers asked for his identification. The man managed to drive away but only got about a mile down the interstate before losing control of his vehicle, which veered off the road and into a nearby ditch.

Despite crashing, the suspect didn’t stop there. He exited the car and fled on foot, boldly sprinting across both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the busy highway. Before law enforcement officers could apprehend him, he found a drainage area beneath the interstate and vanished from sight.
