High-Speed Chase in Salt Lake City: Two Arrested, One on the Run After Violent Assault

In a high-stakes police pursuit Thursday night, Salt Lake City became the backdrop for a dramatic chase after a stolen vehicle linked to an aggravated assault led to a tense situation. The incident unfolded around 8:45 p.m. when law enforcement officers spotted the stolen vehicle, which had been flagged the day before in connection to the assault.

As police attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspects fled, sparking a chase that quickly escalated. Officers deployed spike strips near 300 West and North Temple, causing the vehicle to come to a halt. The three suspects inside then exited the vehicle and fled on foot, leading to a sprawling pursuit involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

In a coordinated response, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) deployed a helicopter to assist, and units from the Salt Lake City Police Department and Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Department joined the search. Within minutes, two of the three suspects were arrested, while one managed to escape.

The authorities have urged the public to stay clear of the area while they continue their search for the remaining suspect, who is still on the run. Despite the chaotic nature of the pursuit, no injuries have been reported, and there is no ongoing danger to the public.
