After a week of freezing temperatures and record-breaking snowfall, Florida’s weather is finally back to normal. Pensacola is expected to enjoy highs around 66°F on Monday, slightly above the average for this time of year, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Temperatures will gradually climb, reaching as high as 72°F by Friday.
AccuWeather predicts more mild weather across Florida in February. Cities like Tallahassee and Jacksonville will experience temperatures in the 70s, with Jacksonville reaching the low 80s later in the week. Central and South Florida will see warm highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
No Winter Storms for Florida
While much of the northern U.S. braces for snowstorms from two fast-moving “clipper systems” originating in Canada, Florida remains unaffected. These systems are bringing snow and strong winds to the Great Lakes and Northeast, but the southern U.S., including Florida, will remain warm and dry. For Floridians, it’s time to put the winter coats away.
Pensacola Recovers From an Unusually Cold January
Last week, North Florida faced extremely cold conditions. Pensacola’s average temperature from January 19-25 was 33.8°F, a whopping 17 degrees below normal. This month, Pensacola’s average daily temperature has been 7 degrees colder than usual.
The area even broke two record lows. On January 22, temperatures hit 6°F, making it the second-coldest day in the city’s history and breaking a 1935 record by 14 degrees. The next day, temperatures dropped to 19°F, breaking a 1963 record.

- Monday: Morning rain showers, mostly cloudy with highs near 65°F. Winds shifting to the northwest. Lows around 45°F.
- Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with highs near 62°F. Calm winds and lows around 48°F.
- Wednesday: Cloudy skies with highs near 68°F and lows around 55°F.
- Thursday: Partly sunny with highs near 68°F and lows around 62°F.
- Friday: Showers likely, with highs near 72°F. Rain chances continue into the evening.
- Weekend: A slight chance of rain Saturday morning with highs near 67°F. Sunday will be sunny, with temperatures near 68°F.
