NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A second suspect has been arrested in connection to a violent shooting that left a man wounded after he confronted car burglars outside his home.
Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officials confirmed that 19-year-old William Hope was taken into custody and charged with attempted murder, among other serious offenses. The arrest follows a February 12 incident in which shots were fired into a home on Del Sol Drive, striking a 35-year-old man in the hip.
According to investigators, the victim had been yelling from his bedroom window at individuals seen lurking near his truck when gunfire erupted. The victim’s wife and young child were also in the bedroom at the time, escalating the severity of the crime.
Specialized Investigation Division TITANS detectives tracked Hope from Nashville to a fast-food restaurant in Lebanon, where he was arrested without incident.
His arrest follows that of Jordan Worthington, also 19, who was taken into custody on February 14 during a coordinated traffic stop in Hermitage. Officers reportedly discovered a .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol in Worthington’s car.
Hope faces multiple charges, including attempted criminal homicide, attempted vehicle burglary, felony reckless endangerment, and two counts of aggravated assault. Worthington faces similar charges.
This case has left the community on edge, highlighting the dangers of escalating crimes involving vehicle burglaries and gun violence. Authorities urge residents to report suspicious activity and avoid direct confrontations with potential criminals.
