EXCLUSIVE: 2Pac Murder Suspect Keefe D Claims New Evidence Could Prove His Innocence

Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the prime suspect in the 1996 murder of hip-hop legend 2Pac, is pushing to postpone his upcoming trial, scheduled for March 2025. In a motion filed on February 14, Davis’s legal team claims to have uncovered new evidence that could prove his innocence. They argue that new testimony from a private investigator could establish that Davis was not in Las Vegas at the time of 2Pac’s death, casting doubt on the longstanding allegations.

The motion also suggests that the fresh evidence may point to a different suspect altogether, potentially reopening the investigation and warranting a delay in the trial. The legal documents state, “With every new piece of evidence, it becomes increasingly clear that critical facts have yet to be fully examined.”

Davis, who has been in police custody since September 2023, was charged with orchestrating the murder of 2Pac. This marked the first significant arrest in the decades-old case. In 2008, Davis had confessed to his involvement in the murder during a police interview, but he contends that the confession was made under an immunity deal, which his legal team argues should protect him from prosecution. However, prosecutors have denied the existence of such a deal, and the judge ruled against Davis in a previous attempt to dismiss the charges.

Despite his recent efforts to dismiss the charges, including claiming that statements he made in his 2019 book, Compton Street Legend, were for entertainment purposes, Davis remains charged with conspiracy to commit murder. The upcoming hearing on February 18 will determine whether the judge will grant a delay in the trial to further investigate the new evidence.

As the case continues to develop, the legal battle over Davis’s involvement in 2Pac’s death rages on, leaving the long-unsolved murder shrouded in even more uncertainty.
