Deadly Shooting: 1 Killed, Another Injured in Belmont Cragin

Early Saturday morning, a tragic shooting took place in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, leaving one man dead and another injured. According to Chicago police, the incident happened just before 2 a.m. in the 6000 block of West Belden Street.

The victims, two men aged 25 and 29, were standing outside when someone started shooting. The 25-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was rushed to Loyola University Medical Center. Unfortunately, he did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The 29-year-old man was hit in the back and shoulder. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he is reported to be in good condition and expected to recover.

The reason for the shooting is still unclear, and Area Five detectives are actively investigating the case to gather more information. No arrests have been made so far, and police are working to identify the person responsible.
