Deadly Knife Attack in NC Intersection Leaves 1 Man Dead, Suspect Behind Bars

A deadly knife attack at a North Carolina intersection has tragically claimed the life of 50-year-old Kevin Deran Copelin. The incident occurred on December 23 at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Robinson Terrace in Hendersonville.

Hendersonville police responded to an “unknown problem” call around 8:45 p.m. and found Copelin suffering from injuries consistent with a knife assault. He was immediately taken to Pardee UNC Health by ambulance but later succumbed to his injuries.

Following an investigation, authorities have arrested 34-year-old Willie Lee Brown III, also of Hendersonville, who has been charged with first-degree murder. Brown is being held without bond at the Henderson County Detention Center. The community remains in shock as they process this senseless act of violence.

The incident has left the area shaken, and local law enforcement continues to ask anyone with information to come forward.
