The case began on January 13th when deputies responded to a call at 103 Randolph Lane, where they discovered the body of Robert Nelms. Initial findings suggested that Nelms had died from an overdose. While deputies were still at the scene, they received another call reporting a second death at 1064 West Wards Bridge Road. Upon arrival, they found Denny Jones deceased in his home, also from what appeared to be an overdose.

During the course of their investigation, deputies determined that Taylor had been at Jones’ home at the time of his death but had left the scene without reporting it to authorities. Her failure to notify law enforcement led to her arrest on charges of concealment of death, a Class D felony under North Carolina law.
