Three Men Arrested for Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins and Thefts in Nash County
NASH COUNTY, N.C. – Authorities have arrested three men in connection with 15 vehicle break-ins across Nash County, with five of those incidents involving theft. The Nash County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrests following an investigation and coordinated efforts with other law enforcement agencies.
On Thursday, the sheriff’s office received multiple reports of vehicle break-ins throughout the county. Deputies gathered evidence and identified a vehicle of interest, which they then circulated to local law enforcement agencies.
Later, the North Carolina Highway Patrol located the suspect vehicle near Sunset Avenue and Halifax Road and conducted a traffic stop. Inside the vehicle, officers identified the suspects as Rashad Moore, Khalil Sanders, and Kamari Taylor, all residents of Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Upon searching the vehicle, deputies discovered multiple firearms, including one that had been reported stolen. Additionally, authorities found several stolen items linked to thefts reported earlier that day.
Moore and Taylor were arrested and charged with the following offenses:
- Two counts of larceny of a firearm
- Possession of a stolen firearm
- Ten counts of breaking or entering into a motor vehicle
- Five counts of breaking or entering into a motor vehicle with theft
- Carrying a concealed weapon
Sanders faced the same charges as Moore and Taylor but was also charged with:
- Possession of a firearm by a felon
- Resist, delay, or obstruct a public officer
Following their arrests, all three suspects were booked into the Nash County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
The Nash County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation and urges residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activity, and take precautions to secure their vehicles to prevent future incidents.
