Craven County Man Arrested on Drug Charges After Vehicle Search
CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. – A man was arrested on drug-related charges following a vehicle search conducted by Craven County deputies. The Craven County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident stemmed from a trespassing complaint near Ernul.
Deputies responded to a residence on Wednesday after the homeowners reported an individual trespassing on their property. The homeowners provided authorities with a photograph of the suspect’s vehicle and a description of the driver.
The following day, investigators with the Criminal Investigations Bureau were patrolling the area when they spotted a vehicle that matched the description given by the homeowners. Upon stopping the vehicle, deputies identified the driver as 36-year-old William Pittman of Grifton, North Carolina.
During the search of Pittman’s vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. As a result, Pittman was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:
- Felony possession of methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Following his arrest, Pittman was booked into the Craven County Jail. Authorities set his bond at $2,500 secured.
