Two Men Arrested Twice for Vehicle Break-Ins and Theft in Pitt County
PITT COUNTY, N.C. – Two men from Eastern Carolina have been arrested twice in connection with vehicle break-ins and theft incidents.
The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to a call at approximately 3:20 a.m. regarding an attempted vehicle break-in at a residence on Scarlett Oak Drive, located outside Greenville. Security footage from the home revealed two individuals in the vicinity of Timber Drive. Further evidence linked the suspects to the attempted break-in on Scarlett Oak Drive.
The suspects, identified as 20-year-old Bryce Kennedy from Greenville and 19-year-old Shymere Brown from Vanceboro, were apprehended and charged with misdemeanor attempted breaking or entering and misdemeanor conspiracy.
Later that day, deputies were alerted to suspicious items discovered at the corner of Willow Oak Court. During their investigation, authorities determined that the items had been stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway on Oak Hill Drive during the night.
Further evidence gathered at the Pitt County jail led deputies to re-arrest Kennedy and Brown. Both were subsequently charged with felony larceny after breaking and entering.
As of now, Kennedy is being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $30,000 bond. Brown remains in custody without bond as he awaits his first appearance hearing.
