LAS VEGAS – A suspected DUI crash in west Las Vegas Valley on Sunday night left two people hospitalized and caused significant traffic disruptions, authorities reported.
The crash occurred around 8:20 p.m. near Rainbow Boulevard and Westcliff Drive. According to Las Vegas Metro Police, an allegedly impaired driver collided with another vehicle, which was then pushed into a paratransit bus. The impact sent the impaired driver’s vehicle spinning out of control before it crashed into a power box.
Emergency responders transported the driver and another occupant from one of the vehicles to a nearby hospital. Their conditions remain unknown.
The crash forced the closure of Rainbow Boulevard in both directions at Westcliff Drive, causing delays for local commuters, according to RTC Southern Nevada.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident as concerns over DUI-related crashes in Las Vegas grow.
