A deadly attempted robbery in DeKalb County has left one person dead and several others injured after gunfire erupted early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, the shooting happened around 2:05 a.m. in the 5300 block of Panola Industrial Boulevard, where officers arrived to find five victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
The tragic incident claimed the life of a 20-year-old man who was shot in the neck and later pronounced dead at the hospital. Among the injured:
- A 16-year-old male with life-threatening gunshot wounds to his arms and legs.
- A 19-year-old male shot in the stomach, also suffering from life-threatening injuries.
- A 19-year-old male shot in the shoulder with non-life-threatening injuries.
- Another 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his arm.
Authorities say the victims were attending a car meet-up when unknown suspects attempted to rob the 16-year-old, sparking a chaotic exchange of gunfire.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no suspects have been identified.
