Two men were arrested on Monday after a dramatic pursuit that began with an armed robbery in Humboldt Park and ended in the south suburbs. The incident occurred around 1:43 p.m. when the suspects approached a delivery driver in the 800 block of North Spaulding Avenue, stealing his belongings before fleeing in a stolen Infiniti.
As the robbers fled, one of the suspects fired a shot into a nearby residence on East 74th Street and South Saint Lawrence Avenue, although fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. Chicago police, along with Sauk Village police, pursued the suspects through the south suburbs, and the chase eventually led to a stop by Illinois State Police near Vollmer Road and Central Avenue in Matteson.
The two suspects were taken into custody, and authorities recovered two firearms from the vehicle. The quick action by law enforcement prevented further violence and led to the capture of the suspects responsible for the robbery and shooting.
