A strong storm is expected to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and rough waves to Hawaii for the rest of the week. Besides flooding, the storm will also bring thunderstorms and strong winds. On Kauai, wind gusts of 30-50 mph are expected, with the island possibly seeing the worst of the storm. Meteorologists warn that the winds will be very powerful, especially in higher areas.

A High Wind Warning has been issued for the summits of the Big Island of Hawaii until Friday. Winds in these areas could reach 40-50 mph, with gusts up to 90 mph. The high elevations, including Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, may even see snow and ice. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for these areas, with up to 8 inches of snow expected.
