Big Savings on Health Coverage in These 3 Las Vegas Neighborhoods

For many Las Vegas residents, health insurance feels out of reach. In Clark County, one in ten people lacks coverage, often citing high costs as the barrier. However, programs like Nevada Health Link are changing the narrative by offering subsidized health insurance plans to eligible individuals and families. With the Jan. 15 open enrollment deadline fast approaching, it’s the perfect time to explore these affordable options.

Nevada Health Link Executive Director Russell Cook reports record-breaking enrollment this year, with over 105,000 Nevadans already covered. Yet, there are still thousands of eligible residents in Las Vegas who remain uninsured.

Here are three neighborhoods with significant gaps in health coverage:

  1. Twin Lakes (89108)
    • Population: ~75,000
    • Uninsured residents: 8,040
    • Covered residents: 1,760 (1,629 qualified for subsidies)
  2. East Las Vegas (89110)
    • Population: ~67,000
    • Uninsured residents: 6,844
    • Covered residents: 1,431 (1,339 qualified for subsidies)
  3. North Las Vegas (89030)
    • Population: ~51,000
    • Uninsured residents: 7,552
    • Covered residents: 600 (568 qualified for subsidies)

These numbers show the immense potential for residents to save on health insurance. Subsidized policies often result in low premiums—some even as low as $0. Families earning around $80,000 annually can find plans with premiums of about $69 after income-based subsidies.

Skipping insurance is a gamble that can cost families dearly. Medical emergencies, such as a broken arm, can result in bills upwards of $30,000. Subsidized policies not only cap out-of-pocket costs but also provide a vital safety net for unforeseen medical needs.

Nevada Health Link offers free assistance through licensed agents and navigators fluent in multiple languages, ensuring every resident can find the right plan.

Don’t miss out! Visit Nevada Health Link before Jan. 15 to explore your options and secure affordable health coverage.
