In a significant breakthrough, three individuals with ties to multiple killings across different states were arrested in Allegany County, Maryland, on Sunday evening. Michelle Jacqueline Zajko, 32, Daniel Arthur Blank, 26, and Jack Amadeus LaSota, 29, also known as “Ziz,” were taken into custody following a trespassing incident in Frostburg, Maryland.
According to court documents, the three suspects were reportedly trespassing on private property when a local resident called Maryland State Police. The officers discovered two white box trucks on the property, with Zajko and LaSota inside one truck, both dressed in black and carrying firearms, and Blank inside the other. Zajko resisted arrest but was eventually subdued by law enforcement, while Blank was initially uncooperative, citing a learning disability. A Sig Sauer handgun was found on Zajko, and a long rifle was located inside the vehicle.
This arrest marks a crucial development in an ongoing multiyear investigation into a series of killings across three states. Zajko, Blank, and LaSota have been linked to the January shooting of a U.S. Border Patrol agent in Coventry, Vermont, which resulted in the deaths of Agent David Maland and another individual. Zajko, who had been a person of interest in the case, is suspected of purchasing the firearms used in the shooting.
Additionally, Blank is under investigation in connection with a double homicide in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, where Zajko’s parents were murdered in December 2022. The trio also has ties to a mysterious group known as the “Zizians,” associated with LaSota’s blog.
The FBI, along with local and federal law enforcement agencies, continues to investigate the suspects’ potential connections to other crimes. The three remain in custody in Allegany County without bond, awaiting a bail review hearing. As the investigation unfolds, authorities urge anyone with further information to come forward.
