NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After weeks of terrorizing local neighborhoods, a 63-year-old man accused of stealing multiple packages has been arrested. Billy Pemberton was taken into custody Friday afternoon by the Metro Nashville Police Department, facing seven counts of theft in connection with package thefts in the Cahal Avenue and Peerman Drive areas.
According to authorities, Pemberton had been actively stealing deliveries from doorsteps over the past three weeks, leaving residents frustrated and on high alert. The repeated thefts prompted increased surveillance and community reports, ultimately leading to his capture.
Officials have not yet disclosed the value of the stolen goods or whether any items have been recovered. However, Pemberton’s arrest comes as a relief to many residents who had grown concerned about the security of their deliveries.
