During a public event at the White House on Sunday night, President Joe Biden made some strong remarks toward the press after signing the Social Security Fairness Act.
As reported by Fox News’ Lucas Tomlinson, Biden answered questions from the crowd, which led to him criticizing President-elect Donald Trump. When asked if he still saw Trump as a threat to democracy, Biden replied, “What he did was a genuine threat to democracy.”
Biden then responded to claims that Trump plans to end birthright citizenship. He abruptly shifted focus to attacking reporters, saying, “I might be the oldest president, but I know more world leaders than any one of you have ever met in your whole goddamn life!”
The comment quickly stirred reactions on social media. Journalist Salena Zito joked about it, while conservative commentator Steve Guest called Biden “a bitter person.”
RedState writer Bonchie criticized the idea that Biden’s connections with world leaders made him qualified, pointing out that Biden has failed in foreign policy. CNN’s Scott Jennings sarcastically referred to Biden as “the most civil, decent, and devoutly Catholic president.”
Throughout his presidency, Biden has made controversial remarks toward reporters. For example, in November 2024, he mocked a reporter who asked about a potential hostage deal between Hamas and Israel, saying, “Do you think you can keep from getting hit in the head by a — a camera behind you?”
In 2022, Biden also called Fox News reporter Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a b—-” after a question about inflation. Biden later claimed the comment was not personal and that he had called Doocy to clear the air.
