EXCLUSIVE: Man Accused of Killing Cyclist Was Out on Prior DUI Charge

LAS VEGAS – Shocking new details have emerged about the suspect accused of fatally striking a 62-year-old man on an E-bike in northwest Las Vegas. Jesus Robles Jr., the driver in Friday’s tragic crash, was reportedly out of custody on a separate DUI charge at the time of the accident, according to a Las Vegas judge.

Robles, 49, now faces multiple charges, including DUI, reckless driving, failure to maintain a travel lane, and lack of proof of insurance. Authorities say he was driving an unregistered 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound on Jones Boulevard when he veered into a marked bike lane, hitting the cyclist. Despite emergency efforts, the victim did not survive.

Appearing before Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Holly Stoberski on Saturday, Robles was ordered to remain in custody for at least two days without bail. The judge cited his pending DUI case and a troubling history of nearly 10 prior failures to appear in court.

This fatal collision adds to growing concerns about repeat DUI offenders on Las Vegas roads. Robles is scheduled for another court appearance on Tuesday as investigations continue.
