LAS VEGAS – A devastating accident in the northwest Las Vegas Valley has claimed the life of a 62-year-old man after he was struck by an SUV while riding his E-bike.
The fatal crash occurred on Friday around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Jones Boulevard and Elkhorn Road. Authorities say the victim was riding in a designated bicycle lane when a black 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe suddenly veered out of its lane, striking him.
The driver, identified as 49-year-old Jesus Robles Jr., reportedly failed to maintain his travel lane and drifted into the bike lane, fatally hitting the cyclist. Police confirmed that the impact knocked the victim to the ground, causing critical injuries. Emergency responders rushed him to the hospital, but despite their best efforts, he was pronounced dead.
Las Vegas Metro Police stated that Robles remained at the scene and showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
This tragedy marks the 29th traffic-related fatality within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2025. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
