In a dramatic takedown, Metro Nashville Police arrested James Broadway Jaudon, 37, a convicted felon, for drug dealing and carrying a firearm near public housing in the Napier-Sudekum area. Jaudon, who has a long criminal history including convictions for aggravated robbery and felony drug possession, was caught in the act by undercover detectives.
According to MNPD, Jaudon was seen conducting multiple hand-to-hand drug transactions on Lewis & Lafayette Streets. Detectives observed him retrieving a bag containing what appeared to be a white substance during one exchange. When officers attempted to arrest him, Jaudon reportedly fled on foot, pulling a 9mm pistol from his waistband and tossing it over a fence before being caught.
Upon his arrest, police discovered Jaudon was carrying .2 grams of crack cocaine, 4.1 grams of meth, and 10.5 grams of heroin. He later admitted to detectives that he sells drugs for money and had purchased the firearm illegally.
Jaudon, who previously served 8-year and 5-year sentences for aggravated robbery and an 8-year sentence for felony heroin possession, is now facing multiple felony drug charges and unlawful gun possession. He is currently being held on a $147,500 bond, while the U.S. Attorney’s Office considers federal prosecution due to the severity of his offenses.
This latest arrest highlights the ongoing battle against violent crime and drug trafficking in the area. Authorities continue to crack down on repeat offenders who pose a threat to public safety.
