SHOCKING: Two Arrested After Intense Shootout in East Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – A late-night shootout in East Las Vegas on Feb. 17 left two men injured and facing multiple felony charges after gunfire erupted near Karen Avenue and McLeod Drive.

According to Las Vegas Metro Police, the violent altercation began around 10 p.m. after a woman called one of the shooters, Damian Elizondo, to pick her up from what she described as a “bad gang area.” She told officers she felt uneasy after two men allegedly “eyed her” as she stood outside.

Meanwhile, Reginaldo Zambrano and his group were drinking inside a parked 2006 Chevrolet Silverado when Zambrano and another man stepped out of the vehicle to cool off. At that moment, Elizondo—dressed in black clothing with a bandana over his face—allegedly approached them aggressively and opened fire.

Zambrano, struck in the leg, returned fire before his group fled the scene in the Silverado. Officers later spotted the vehicle speeding toward a hospital with its headlights off. Zambrano was found wounded and was assisted inside for treatment.

Elizondo also suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his hand, calf, and leg. Before calling the police, he allegedly instructed the woman to hide his gun.

A background check revealed that Elizondo, a convicted felon with a history of violent crimes—including attempted murder and gang-related offenses—was illegally in possession of a firearm.
