Tragic Discovery: Body Found in Search for Missing Colorado College Student

Authorities in Boulder, Colorado, are investigating the discovery of a body believed to be that of missing University of Colorado Boulder student Megan Trussell, who had been last seen on February 9, 2025. The body was found in difficult-to-reach terrain in Boulder Canyon, prompting a complex recovery operation. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the recovery on February 14, stating that the body was located after a technical evacuation, which required rappelling due to the challenging terrain. The exact identity of the deceased has not been confirmed, as authorities are awaiting identification and notification of next of kin. The discovery was made around 10:41 a.m. by City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks rangers, who reported the body’s location.
