In a major breakthrough, police have arrested two suspects linked to a series of armed bank robberies in Henderson, Nevada. The shocking crimes, which occurred in January, sent waves of concern through the community.
Denzel Jones, 23, and Trashauna Outlaw, 21, now face a slew of serious charges, including two counts each of robbery and burglary with a deadly weapon. Additionally, they have been charged with eight counts of assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, according to official records.
The crime spree began on January 18, when police responded to an armed robbery at a Chase Bank located at 90 North Stephanie Street, just off the 215 Freeway. Reports indicated that an armed suspect, wielding a black handgun, entered the bank and later fled the scene in a getaway vehicle.
Exactly one week later, on January 25, a second armed robbery was reported at the American First Credit Union on South Eastern Avenue, near West Horizon Ridge Parkway. The pattern of the crimes and the suspect’s method quickly raised alarms among law enforcement.
Despite the high-stakes nature of the incidents, police confirmed that no injuries were reported. However, the daring nature of the crimes heightened urgency in the investigation.
With the collaborative efforts of the FBI, the North Las Vegas Police Department, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Henderson detectives identified Jones and Outlaw as the primary suspects. On Saturday, February 1, officers successfully apprehended them without incident.
