In a heartbreaking incident early Tuesday morning, a 71-year-old woman lost her life in a two-vehicle crash in the east Las Vegas valley. The crash occurred around 7:40 a.m. on East Warm Springs Road and Burnham Avenue, prompting the closure of Warm Springs in the area for hours as police investigated.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), evidence and witness statements revealed that the collision involved a Ford F-150 traveling west on East Warm Springs Road and a Toyota Matrix exiting a private drive to enter the roadway. The front of the Ford struck the left side of the Toyota as it entered traffic.
Emergency responders rushed the driver of the Toyota to a nearby hospital. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. Police have identified the victim as the fifth traffic-related fatality within LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2025.
Authorities noted that impairment is not suspected in the crash, which remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
