Three individuals were arrested on January 13 in connection with a burglary at the Kohl’s store on Towne Drive in Fayetteville, according to the Town of Manlius Police Department. The incident unfolded around 6 p.m. when a store employee recognized two suspects who had previously stolen over $500 worth of merchandise earlier in January but had not yet been apprehended. The employee reported that the suspects were spotted earlier that morning selecting high-value items, which they abandoned after store employees intervened.
Later that evening, the same two suspects returned to the store. Manlius Police were alerted and monitored the situation, waiting for the suspects to leave. Police observed the suspects completing another theft, taking over $700 worth of merchandise. As they attempted to flee in their vehicle, officers took the suspects into custody, along with a passenger who was in the vehicle at the time.
Further investigation revealed that the vehicle being used by the suspects had been reported stolen from the Town of DeWitt. An inventory search of the vehicle uncovered cocaine and various items of drug paraphernalia.
The three individuals arrested were identified as 33-year-old Randy Bowman, 27-year-old Colleeka Robinson, and 24-year-old Timothy Delapp, all from Syracuse. They face several charges, including petit larceny, conspiracy, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th and 7th degrees, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Bowman and Robinson also had additional warrants for their arrests. All three suspects are currently being held at the Justice Center, pending arraignment.
The arrest comes amid an increased focus by the Manlius Police on tackling retail crime in the area, particularly during the busy holiday shopping season.
