The U.S. Postal Service is offering a $100,000 reward for tips that lead to the arrest of a man who pretended to be a mail carrier and stole mail in Chicago’s Loop area.
According to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the theft happened in December when the suspect, dressed as a postal worker, took mail from an office building in the Loop. In January, the same person, again disguised as a mail carrier, tried to steal mail from another office building in the same area.
Officials have not revealed which buildings were involved. They are asking anyone with information about the suspect to call their hotline at (877) 876-2455.
Details about the man’s identity have not been shared. However, the Postal Inspection Service has released a photo of the suspect and is urging the public to come forward with any information that could help with the investigation.
The $100,000 reward is meant to encourage people to assist in catching the individual responsible for these crimes. If you know anything, you can help by contacting the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
