Stoddard County Tragedy: Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Collision

A tragic accident occurred on the night of Friday, January 10, 2025, in Stoddard County, Missouri, leaving a Malden man dead. The incident took place around 10:15 p.m. on Route H at Route ZZ, approximately 10 miles southwest of Dexter, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report.

The driver, a 25-year-old male from Malden, was traveling northbound in a 2010 Lexus RX350 when the vehicle failed to properly navigate a curve. As a result, the car veered off the left side of the roadway, overturned multiple times, and ultimately ejected the driver from the vehicle.

First responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. Despite efforts to assist, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham at 11:15 p.m. The coroner then transported the body to the Stoddard County Morgue for further investigation.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol has confirmed that the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, and it is unclear whether the driver was wearing a seatbelt or other safety restraints at the time of the incident.

The fatal crash serves as a reminder of the potential dangers on the road, particularly in adverse weather or challenging driving conditions.
